Lab & Field StudiesEmailAs a GLEC Laboratory Technician since 2018, Taylor has supported several national programs, including EPA’s Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR), the National Science Foundation’s NEON project, and the EPA’s National Rivers and Streams Assessment (NRSA). U.S. EPA programs. Taylors’ duties have included shipping sampling kits to public water systems required to monitor for potential drinking water contaminants for UCMR; preparing field samples for taxonomic identification of algae for the NRSA; sample receipt, tracking, and data entry for the NEON program; and sample collection and field measurements for Michigan EGLE and other clients. Prior to GLEC, Taylor worked as a Research Assistant for the Great Lakes Water Studies Institute and as a Ranger for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources as well as volunteering for the Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay. Taylor holds a B.S. in Freshwater Science and Sustainability from Western Michigan University.
